Bek Ashton

Born 1998, London

Bek Ashton studied illustration at Glasgow School of Art (2020) and completed the Drawing Year Masters Programme at the Royal Drawing School (2024). She creates enigmatic images playing between self-referential fact and fiction. Her work, characterised by a dark tone with humorous edges, celebrates our dense, overlapping, and often uncanny existence. Her drawings are often created in reaction to her own writing, a poem or a memory. She constructs and deconstructs, drawing and redrawing, playing with texture and gesture, inviting the viewer to sink into ephemera.
